Stanford University Santa Clara University Mission College

Stanford University. Stanford University is one of the premier research and teaching universities in the world. Stanford is a private university that comprises seven schools, including three that award undergraduate degrees: Humanities & Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Engineering. Graduate studies are conducted through each of the seven schools: Business, Law, Education, Medicine, Engineering, Earth Sciences, and Humanities & Sciences. Stanford’s renowned athletics department has been the launching point for Olympians and professional athletes.

San Jose State University. More than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students make up the San Jose State University student body. The public university offers 65 master’s degrees and 69 bachelor’s degrees in 134 areas of study. San Jose State University, founded in 1857, is the oldest university in the California State University system. Santa Clara University. Santa Clara University is the oldest academic institution of higher learning in California. The private Jesuit university was established at the Mission Santa Clara de Asis in 1851. Undergraduate degrees offered include Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Science in Commerce. The university’s six graduate programs include law, business, engineering, counseling psychology, education, and pastoral ministries. Santa Clara University sports teams compete at the NCAA Division I level.

De Anza College. De Anza College in Cupertino is ranked among the top community colleges in California for its student transfer rate into the UC and California State University system. In addition to general education studies, De Anza College offers a variety of non-credit courses, community learning opportunities, and distance learning for credit and professional development. De Anza’s intercollegiate sports teams have received the coveted Bud Ottmar Award for 11 consecutive years. Approximately 22,000 students are enrolled at De Anza College.   [Top]

Mission College. Mission College is a public community college in Santa Clara that offers Associate’s degree programs to prepare students for transfer to a four-year university. Vocational, enrichment, distance learning and certificate of proficiency programs are also offered.

West Valley College. West Valley College is located in Saratoga on the west side of San Jose. The public community college offers professional certificates, 18 career programs, distance learning and degree programs designed to prepare students for four-year universities. The Community Education department at West Valley College offers continued learning opportunities for professional and personal development, including online and noncredit courses.

San Jose City College. San Jose City College offers Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, and certificate programs. The community college serves the greater San Jose and Milpitas areas of Silicon Valley. San Jose City College also offers distance learning, English as a Second Language courses, technology and career training, and non-credit classes for adults.   [Top]
